Angie Louthan

Founder and Creator of The Kind FesT

Angie is a mom of 2 sweet daughters, a wife to a kind man, a networker and connector, a Transformational Life Coach and a woman who believes in people's potential individually and collaboratively to create a kinder world.

In May of 2015, just 6 months after Angie was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue, she laid in bed with my girls, then ages 5 and 7, feeling gratitude for all the ways the power of kindness had supported her quick recovery.  While kindness had always been a value of hers, there were new lessons to be learned through this illness about receiving kindness and practicing it towards herself.  The power of kindness had changed her life and continues to be a key component in the work she does every day.

Angie began to dream up a large scale way to share the power of kindness, compassion, connection, and community and inspire change in the system we live in.  During a time where the political climate was filled with anger, meanness, blaming, and disconnection, Angie wanted to make a difference in the world by putting her attention and energy into something that gave everybody hope, inspiration, joy, and happiness.  She began to wonder, "What if instead of resisting the things we didn't like, we promoted the things we did like?  What if I could use a community festival to promote kindness!?”  She envisioned The Kind Fest as a platform for artists, leaders, businesses, organizations, and volunteers to help teach, inspire, and empower people to create a kinder world.  She hoped that The Kind Fest would be a catalyst for the change we all so desperate seek within ourselves, our relationships, our neighborhoods, our work place, our organizations, our systems, our government, and ultimately our planet.  Angie is a visionary and dreamer believing that together, we can create a kinder world.

So in May of 2015, Angie bought the domain name and took baby steps towards her dream. In August of 2018 the 2nd Kind Fest was held with just over 1000 attendees.  The dream is that The Kind Fest evolves and grows into whatever it needs to be to move us towards more connection, joy, and community starting right here in Washington.  We hope you'll come join the movement.

Today Angie Louthan continues to head the festival in addition to working as a Transformational Life Coach. She believes that bringing more self awareness and self kindness is key to creating a kinder world. She does work with small groups and individuals through Transformational Life Coaching, Art Classes, and Workshops. Find out more about working with Angie here.

Volunteers of a kinder world

Each year it takes at least 50 volunteers to support the creation of the festival!  We have a core group of volunteers months before the event, groups of volunteers who support smaller events throughout the year, and then over 30 on the day of the festival! They come with enthusiasm, energy, gratitude, and so much kindness!  We couldn't have made these festivals happen without their hard work and support!  Thank you so much!  If you are interested in volunteering for the 2019 festivals, please click here.
